In medical literature diagnostic markers are evaluated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. In other fields such as machine learning, precision-recall (PR) curves are used to evaluate binary classifiers. Unlike the area under ROC curves, the area under PR curves is influenced by the class prevalence rates. In this talk I will review PR curves and present a method to get better curves and inference on the area.
