MACHINE LEARNING LEVERAGING SAS VIYA

Abstract

We will walk through a case example of machine learning step by step using the new SAS platform Viya, as well as discussing how you can integrate any open source codes. We would love to discuss some of the challenges you see in bringing in machine learning into action. Networking will follow.

Biographical Notes

Andy Ravenna, Principal Technical Training Consultant, New York Regional Office, has a BS in Chemical Engineering, and an MS in Applied Mathematics minoring in Statistics; both from NC State University. He has used SAS since 1985 and began teaching in 1988. Andy has been at the Institute for 30 years starting in the QA department and then providing Technical services beginning 1996 in the Consulting department. In 2000 he started teaching SAS for the Education Division. He now focuses in Advanced Analytics and Statistical Training as well as Viya.

May Yamada-Lifton's career focus has been solving problems in life sciences - as a strategist, decision analyst, investment banker/vc, project manager of large-scale reorgs/acquisitions, and new products marketer. Currently, she is at SAS Institute as a Senior Account Executive. She believes in the value of data and analytics to "see" our problems, so we can better solve them. She has an MBA from Columbia University, BS from MIT, BA from University of Tokyo. She has worked at Pfizer, Celgene, Lilly, Merck and CSL Behring.

Registration and Fees

The registration deadline is Friday, October 25, 2019.

There is no fee, but advanced registration is required.
Registration will be capped at 40 as we will have follow-along behind training computers.
Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
There will be a wait list once capacity has been reached.
Please note, this is not a certificate program.

Light refreshments will be served from 8:00 to 9:00 P.M. during the networking portion.
Let us know if you are interested in the networking session only as there is additional capacity.
To gain entrance, you will need to be pre-registered with the building.
